Welcome. I’m a narrative journalist and researcher covering stories about nature and culture.
I enjoy crafting deeply-researched essays with strong characters that reveal connections to place, and the complexities and contradictions of being human. My work often covers how communities and wildlife adapt to climate change, and how politics and culture influence science.
You’ll find my writing in Canada’s National Observer, CBC News, Courrier International, Hakai Magazine, PBS SoCal, Mongabay, Pacific Standard, Popular Science, Sapiens Magazine, Sierra Magazine, The Tyee, and others.
My reporting has been supported by The Pulitzer Center and CivicStory. I hold a graduate degree in political ecology and climate change from the Yale School of the Environment, and a master’s in international law and human rights from New York University.
